Robert “Bobby” Jones is the son of a special education teacher and criminal defense attorney. Bobby grew up in Southeastern Michigan but loved to visit his grandparents from South Carolina, and quickly fell in love with the warmth and beauty of the Palmetto State and its people. Bobby graduated cum laude from Clemson University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and minor in Legal Studies. Bobby returned to Michigan to pursue his dream of becoming a lawyer and attended law school at the WMU – Cooley School of Law. He graduated with honors and distinguished himself by serving on the Moot Court Team.
Bobby was admitted to practice law in South Carolina in May, 2010. Since his entry into private practice, he has obtained significant recoveries in the form of verdicts and settlements for individuals in many different types of cases, including medical and hospital negligence, nursing home negligence and abuse, brain injury, motor vehicle accidents, trucking accidents, wrongful death, premises injuries, product liability, workers’ compensation, and civil rights violations and police misconduct claims.
Through these various types of cases, Bobby has recovered over $60 million dollars in compensation for his clients. In 2015, Bobby associated the assistance of the law firm of Hoyt and Blewett, PLLC in Montana to help Jeremy Vangsnes, a local Academic All-American track star from Spartanburg, SC, secure a $26 million dollar settlement as the result of a rollover accident near Yellowstone Park that left him brain-damaged and quadriplegic. The $26 million payment, which represented the full insurance policy limits, is the largest single-plaintiff personal injury recovery in Montana history.
Bobby is an active member of the American Bar Association, the Greenville County Bar Association, and the South Carolina Association for Justice. Bobby is admitted to practice in all South Carolina state and federal courts, including the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.
Mr. Jones has repeatedly been named as a Super Lawyer’s “Rising Star” and recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as one of the “Top 100 Trial Lawyers.” Many of his cases have been featured in local and national news outlets including the Greenville News, The State, and Post and Courier. Bobby, his wife Lauren, and daughter Eliza live in Greenville and are members of Grace Church. When he is not practicing law, Bobby loves watching college football, playing golf, and spending time with his family.
